Psalmopoeus Irminia, commonly known as the Venezuelan Suntiger, is a New World arboreal tarantula. This tree dwelling species has a deep black colouration with bright orange chevrons on the legs and a tiger striped pattern on the abdomen. This species is sexually dimorphic, meaning males and females have a different colouration. Males of this species are smaller and have a greyish brown colour instead of the deep black. Unlike most New world Tarantulas this tarantula does not have urticating setae (hairs), but they make up for it by being very fast, agile and having potent venom. For this reason, they are not recommended as a beginner tarantula.
