A medium-sized, very colorful, semi-terrestrial species that is native throughout the Indo-Pacific region. It inhabits mangrove areas and spends most of its time on land, but also often submerges in water. It is communal with its own species, though males will sometimes fight in the confines of a smaller enclosure. This crab can live in a freshwater paludarium, but it will thrive in a brackish setup
