This centipede grows to about 20cm long and is found all around east asia It has an agonising bite and unusual venom which contains a mix of several powerful toxins Scientists have isolated a toxin called SSM Spooky toxin which is responsible for allowing this animal to kill prey 10 to 15 times larger than itself The toxin works by blocking potassium from moving in and out of cells which then prevents the brain from sending signals to the heart to beat, and the prey dies very quickly, it also causes problems with the preys breathing systems the venom is rarely fatal for humans, but it is agonising researchers noted that the centipedes bite accounted for approximately 10% of all emergency room visits between 2004 and 2008 in Hawaii !!!
